What advice to someone just starting out on their sustainability journey?
Start small. Make one change at a time so you can sustain it. When it feels comfortable and easy make another change.
Try not to feel overwhelmed. I struggled with this, I wanted to throw everything out that was made of plastic or that wasn't 'good' for us and wanted. But I soon checked myself and realised this was the opposite to what we wanted to achieve. Sustainability is a slow long journey. And I still make mistakes often but every little bit helps and I do not have to be perfect to make a difference.
What are some of the most fun creative solutions you found to enjoy fashion and interior design more sustainably?
When it comes to fashion or interior design the best tip is to look for quality over quantity. It becomes a fun challenge to find the items I would like to add to my wardrobe or home made of sustainable materials. Higher quality generally means a higher price so this automatically means we couldn’t buy as much. I also think if you chose items that you love and that aren't just in fashion you will love them for way longer. Another bonus it generally means supporting smaller businesses and families.
What is your favourite Biome product or brand?
I've been buying your wooden toilet brushes for ages. They look beautiful and I can home compost.
