Carl Ludwig joined forces with long-time friend and co-founder Fiona Su, establishing the brandto address the environmental issues they saw taking place in the clothing industry, world wide. Research led them to Organic Natural Colour Cotton (ONCC), that naturally grows in three earthy colours. Paired with a regenerative agricultural practice via a 13th generation farm, the ONCC grows in northern China, within the Hexi Corridor, a special landscape of the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau where the soil is fertile and the sun is strong. Every aspect of their business aims to have the smallest negative impact on the planet and the highest positive impact on health and society.
Biome acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation (Burwood), Bundjalung, Yugambeh and Koombumerrii people (Southport), and Yuggera and Turrbul people (Meanjin / Brisbane) as the traditional owners and custodians of the land that we work on.
