Gillawarra Arts is a creative arts business originating from the mid north coast of NSW.
Designer Krystal Hurst a Worimi woman grew up on the banks of Taree’s Manning River and the beautiful salty sea on the Mid North Coast. Spending her childhood fishing swimming and gathering sea foods at Forster and many coastal inlets around Taree Krystal's handmade jewellery uses natural materials and draws on nature for inspiration.
Our pieces speak of the sky land rivers and sea. Gillawarra Arts jewellery draws on old knowledge and new stories interwoven by Aboriginal women for its wearers to feel a sense of pride connection and empowerment. Our jewellery sings our memories
Biome acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation (Burwood), Bundjalung, Yugambeh and Koombumerrii people (Southport), and Yuggera and Turrbul people (Meanjin / Brisbane) as the traditional owners and custodians of the land that we work on. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
