Bente Saugbjerg moved to Australia in 1996 to be with her husband, Peter Faith. Keen to show Bente around, Peter introduced her to Australian nature and its unique plants. They discovered some of these plants were actually quite tasty, and before long were using Lemon Myrtle, Wattle Seed, Pepper Berry and more in their cooking.
At the same time, Bente and Peter often found themselves searching for gifts to send back to Bente's family in Denmark. All of a sudden, it clicked, the unique Australian flavours they had been cooking with were the perfect gift! And so, Oz Tukka's first product was born, a gift pack with 5 delicious Australian spices.
Biome acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation (Burwood), Bundjalung, Yugambeh and Koombumerrii people (Southport), and Yuggera and Turrbul people (Meanjin / Brisbane) as the traditional owners and custodians of the land that we work on. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
