Urbotanica™ began its journey over 2 years ago in Australia when the team realised a number of important trends in urbanised communities around the world created an opportunity: consumers wanted fresh food readily available; concern about food miles, the naturalness of our food and food wastage; strong interest in cooking shows such as MasterChef and MKR; emerging consumer interest in growing and preparing your own food in urban environments; children lacking appreciation of where food comes from and how it's grown. The team put its experience and minds to developing an easy growing solution, able to work in all types of urbanised home environments that was easy to operate. Thus the idea for the UrbiPod™ was born.
Biome acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation (Burwood), Bundjalung, Yugambeh and Koombumerrii people (Southport), and Yuggera and Turrbul people (Meanjin / Brisbane) as the traditional owners and custodians of the land that we work on. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
