Properties

Water soluble. Colourless, sweet viscous liquid.

Applications

• Acts as a humectant (moisture locking) which moisturises the skin by drawing moisture from the air into the skin's outer layer and to prevent water loss from the product as well as forms a protective layer to help prevent moisture loss
• Helps to use less preservatives - part of the product's preservation strategy because free water in a product is more likely to support microbial growth
• Most commonly used at 1-5% in skin cream emulsions
• Healing and soothing for dry and irritated skin

What is Vegetable Glycerine / Glycerin

Also known as Glycerin (US spelling) or Glycerol. Glycerine is generally a by-product of another process such as soap-making, which separates the glycerin from the fatty acids in the whole oil. It is also a by-product from bio-diesel production. Due to its sweet taste and low toxicity, it is used widely for food production and pharmaceuticals, such as cough syrups and other medicines. It is used in toothpaste because it is sweet but does not cause tooth decay, as an emollient and laxative, and for making explosives and antifreeze.

Origin of the name is from the French 'glycerin' and from the Greek glukeros ‘sweet’.

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods. Standard: Once the order has shipped, it will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on your destination. 

Express: only for orders up to 4kg and excludes bulky/heavy items.

Heavy/Overwight Orders: Order overs 5kg in weight will attract a $5 extra weight surcharge.

Click & Collect: choose your local store at checkout and your order to be there within 2 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse). Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping for orders up to 2kg. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas.
