This soft toy supports local Kenyan women to market their local homespun wool and provides a safe and family-friendly work environment to produce their unique creations.

Gift idea with purpose. Sending a loving message from Kenyan mothers to a new family. 

Features a fun and unique hand knitted design. Not one toy is exactly the same. 

The wool used is sourced locally in Kenya and then hand carded and spun by Kenana Knitter spinners.

Naturally dyed - the plants and vegetables used for dyeing are either found on the farm or purchased at local markets eg beetroot and red cabbage are from the markets and the dahlia flower field or trees on the farm provides the petals or leaves for certain colours.

When a garment or textile can no longer be worn, mended, swapped, gifted, donated or upcycled, please contact your Council to find the nearest textile recycling scheme.

Kenana Knitters is a grassroots organisation that empowers women in rural Kenya through sustainable income from hand-knitting beautiful products from local, organic wool. Founded in 1998 by Patricia Nightingale, Kenana Knitters has grown to support over 300 knitters and 200 spinners who use recycled bicycle wheels as spinning wheels. Kenana Knitters is committed to improving the lives of the women and their families by providing them with fair wages, flexible work, health and wellbeing clinics, adult literacy classes and more. Kenana Knitters is also dedicated to environmental sustainability by using natural plant dyes and AZO-free dyes to create vibrant and colourful designs. Kenana Knitters is changing lives stitch by stitch.

Shipping & Returns

We are shipping orders in 3 to 4 working days.  Express orders placed by 1pm AEST Mon-Fri are sent same day. 

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty. *except skin and body care, makeup, food, underwear, earrings, and custom order items, which can not be returned for change of mind.

Standard: Once the order has shipped, it will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on your destination. 

Express: only for orders up to 4kg and excludes bulky/heavy items.

Heavy/Overwight Orders: Order overs 5kg in weight will attract a $5 extra weight surcharge.

Click & Collect: choose your local store at checkout and your order to be there within 2 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse). Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping for orders up to 2kg. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas.
