WAW Handplanes is an Australian bodysurfing brand committed to reducing our impact on the Earth. Founded by Rikki Gilbey and based in Sydney, Australia, Rikki and his team create handplanes that are handmade from sustainable, recycled and reclaimed materials. WAW attributes their success to the community effort; it has only been made possible by many great people working together.

For the Badfish: By combining the efforts of individuals they have created a supply chain that allows them to turn waste into a resource. Using plastic waste collected from Australian beaches by Eco Barge Clean Seas, it's then hand sorted, hand washed and shredded with a machine provided by the Plastic Collective and finally moulded into high-quality handplanes by the team at REPLAS.

WAW pride themselves on making products that have a positive impact on our planet. The entire product range is created with both performance and sustainability in mind, allowing customers to catch more waves whilst leaving nothing but cleaner oceans and healthier forests in their path. Your purchase not only cleans the beaches from which you surf, it also allows WAW to fund more clean ups, more sorting, more washing, shredding and more creations, thus diverting more and more of this waste from our beaches and from landfill. They are adamant on steming the flow on virgin plastics production because every single piece of plastic ever made still exists, figuring it's better to use that instead!

WAW is an Australian bodysurfing brand that create two kinds of premium handplanes and leave a positive impact on our planet in the process.

The BadFish handplane is made entirely from recycled ocean plastics collected from the Great Barrier Reef by Eco Barge Clean Seas. Since July 2009, Eco Barge Clean Seas have removed over 235,000kg of marine debris/litter from the environment!

Meanwhile the WAW Timber handplane is made from FSC-sourced White Cedar. For every Timber handplane sold, WAW plant a native tree to minimise their environmental impact. So far they've planted 5,000 trees and counting!

We are shipping orders in 3 to 4 working days.  Express orders placed by 1pm AEST Mon-Fri are sent same day. 

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty. *except skin and body care, makeup, food, underwear, earrings, and custom order items, which can not be returned for change of mind.

Standard: Once the order has shipped, it will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on your destination. 

Express: only for orders up to 4kg and excludes bulky/heavy items.

Heavy/Overwight Orders: Order overs 5kg in weight will attract a $5 extra weight surcharge.

Click & Collect: choose your local store at checkout and your order to be there within 2 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse). Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping for orders up to 2kg. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas.
