Our magnesium, turmeric and ginger DIY foot scrub combines the hydrating and circulation improving properties of magnesium salt, the healing properties of turmeric, and the anti-inflammatory properties of ginger, to awaken the senses and leave your feet feeling smooth and moisturised. Used weekly, your feet will look and feel amazing! Magnesium is beneficial for many functions within the body. In this recipe, magnesium flakes assist with skin hydration, improving circulation, relieving stress, treating foot fungus, eliminating odours, and relieving muscle aches and cramping. Our magnesium salt flakes have been organically sourced from the salt plains of Western Australia and South Australia. In addition, we use Australian Murray River Pink Salt Flakes or Tasmanian sea salt, rather than sourcing salt from overseas such as the Himalayas. Why do the salt flakes not dissolve in oil?
You will be familiar with seeing salt scrubs with salt suspended in the oil. Salt and oil are not chemically alike as one is charged, the other is not (unlike salt and water). When salt is added to oil, no chemical bonds are broken and they remain distinctly separate. Turmeric is an antioxidant, with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It has been used for centuries in Hindu culture to heal and to keep the body healthy. It is also often used to treat conditions such as athlete's foot and foot fungus. The addition of ginger, along with the essential oils, gives this DIY foot scrub its lovely aroma. It will also assist with treating pain and inflammation. Olive oil gives this DIY foot scrub moisturising benefits, working to soften the feet, and creating a barrier that helps to maintain moisture levels in the skin. How To Use
- Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl until combined.
- Transfer to a 240ml glass jar and use within 12 months.
To exfoliate feet, scoop out approximately 1 tablespoon, apply to feet and massage in a circular motion. Rinse with water. Using this scrub once a week will help to keep your feet exfoliated and moisturised. Turmeric may stain initially, but we promise it will wash off after a few days. Use at night if you are concerned about staining the next day.
