the brand story:

Buttonworks Australia is a family business owned and operated by Liz and Mike Murray, who began making wooden craft buttons in 2001. As their product range grew so did Buttonworks and 2 of Liz and Mike's daughter's, Keli and Liza, have since joined the business. Their product range developed from a love of Australian timbers, to include souvenirs, gifts, jewellery, puzzles, games, educational aids and children's products featuring natural and urban icons, native flowers, birds and animals.

With a focus on sustainability, their products are designed to be compact, lightweight and safe to send overseas. All of their design, manufacturing and assembly is done in our studio across the bay from Melbourne, on the Mornington Peninsula. Buttonwork's registration with the Australian Made Campaign allows for each of their products to carry the Australian Made logo. Buttonworks use several Australian timbers to make their products, these include Tasmanian Oak, Jarrah, Blackwood and Myrtle.

• Wood is sourced from either Tasmanian Oak, Jarrah, Blackwood or Myrtle subject to availability. Please note: the same timber can vary from tree to tree in grain, texture and colour so each product's appearance will be unique to you.
• Lightweight and processed, so safe to post overseas for family and friends not in Australia
• Laser-cut designs.
• Each piece features beautiful Australian flora and fauna.
