Black Cohosh - Actaea racemosa

Native North America and Canada, this perennial plant is grown throughout the world. Also referred to as Black Bugbane or Black Snakeroot this plant is recognised for its distinct flowers. Rather than petals or sepals, it consists of tight clusters of long stamens surrounding a white stigma. The flowers have a sweet smell, and its underground roots and rhizome system is used for medicinal purposes.

This flowering plant is a member of the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae and is known to:

• Relieve symptoms of menopause
• Helps reduce occurrence of menopausal symptoms
• Relieve hot flushes associated with menopause
• Relieve excessive perspiration/sweating

Its medicinal uses have been noted in the literature dating back to the 1800’s where you will most likely find it named, Macrotys after a group of “resins” early chemists isolated from the rhizomes.

Zizyphus - Zizyphus Spinosa

Native to China and now grown throughout the world, this perennial woody plant is also commonly known as Chinese Date, Date Seed, Red Date or by its Chinese name Suan Zao Ren.

In Chinese, suan means ‘sour’, zao means ‘date’ and ren means ‘seed’ in other words “seed of the sour date”. The medicinal part is the seed, also called the jujube kernel.

Traditionally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to:

• Nourish heart-yin and balance spirit
• Relieve sleeplessness
• Reduce symptoms of mild anxiety
• Relieve excessive perspiration

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, it is commonly known to nourish the heart (yin) and calm the spirit (shen).

Ziziphus jujuba (Zizyphus) seed ext. dry conc. 200 mg
Derived from dry 10 g

Also contains the following plant derived excipients:
